About
Tony “Harro” Harrington has been capturing breathtaking images of the very extremes of snow and surf around the globe for more than 25 inspirational years.
Not content to solely work behind the lens Harro also creates and produces major adventure projects that have featured in media around the globe with Red Bull, Teton Gravity Research, on TV networks including Discovery Channel, NBC, Channel 10, ONE HD, FUEL TV and networks across Japan and Asia.
An adventurer, photographer, filmer, skier, surfer and experience-seeker Harro sets out on custom-made adventures with a cast of courageous and talented athletes. You’ll find him carving first descents on the massive peaks of Alaska and Greenland or searching out 50-foot waves in remote corners of the world’s oceans. There are few photographers who have pushed the limits of this realm as Harro has in surf or snow; he is the only one who solidly masters both.
Well over 150 magazine covers and the numerous global awards for his work are testament to the quality of the work that Harrington creates.
Raised on the Central Coast of NSW in Australia Harro developed a passion for surfing at Wamberal and continued to surf and compete through to early adulthood. He tossed in his job as an electrician not long afterwards to head to the snowfields for a season.
It turned into a lifelong connection to the mountains and has seen him spend countless winters seeking powder days from Australia to Austria and up to Alaska where he immersed himself in the big mountain and extreme free riding scene.
Now he balances his love of surf and snow through creating his own projects, events and productions that divides his time and energies between the beach and the glaciers.
In the Australian winter you'll find Harro in his Rip Curl store and Photo Shop in the village at Mt Buller where he gets a huge kick out of photographing kids and families and racers on the slopes.
